It IS missing ONE plate only, them's the breaks. What is interesting is that most of the pages are loose, and ALL of the plates are loose, so you can frame these and put them on your wall, without having to feel guilty about destroying the book.

Can't overstate how beautiful these etchings are. The last one I listed was acquired same day FYI.

Here's a link to all the images.

the missing plate is fourth from the bottom.

So, it's..

By Romeyn de Hooghe, edited by Arn. Henr. Westerhovius and published in Amsterdam by Joris van der Oude, 1735.

Full title is: Hieroglyphica, of, Merkbeelden der oude volkeren : namentlyk Egyptenaren, Chaldeeuwen, Feniciers, Joden, Grieken, Romeynen, enz.

which purportedly translates to:

Hieroglyphics, or, Marks of the Ancient Peoples: Namely Egyptians, Chaldeans, Phoenicians, Jews, Greeks, Romans, &c.: Alongside a Detailed Account of the Decay and Progressive Corruption of Religions Through Several Centuries: And Finally, the Reformation, Down to These Times continues : In LXIII. chapters, and so many copper printing sheets

Over the years I've owned three copies of this book. Gifted one to my very best friend on the occasion of his milestone 65th Birthday, only the most special gift would do.

Paid $3500 in the "before times".

Selling for a bit less, $2000 OBO.

the full illustrations may be seen here., with the caption serving as translated codex to the majority of the plates. Trully a stunning book.
