STEPHEN ROMANO GALLERY In the DUMBO arts area of Brooklyn at 111 Front Street you will find The Stephen Romano Gallery spaces. Romano is passionate about art that comes from a dark perspective, pieces often originating from magical thinking with elements that embody diabolical, grotesque and horrific modes of expression. Currently he has three artists in his main space. By Magus Peter Gillmore "Abundantia Cornu Copiae" at the Stephen Romano Gallery |

In Missa Interfectionis - An art exhibit exploring the dance of death, hexes, voodoo, curses, and witchcraft |
Stephen Romano Gallery Presents In Missa Interfectionis What a great discovery it was to find out about the existence of the Stephen Romano Gallery when I went to one of their first group shows last June. Even though it is a teeny bit of a jaunt from Manhattan to DUMBO, going there gives me an excuse to visit a very cool neighborhood that is home to lots of amazing street art. |

A Strange Scene of Star Cats and Astronomy by Allison Meier From a new space in Dumbo’s 111 Front Street building, Stephen Romano Gallery is offering a unique mix of art that’s contemporary, historic, and unapologetically strange. The second exhibition, Mysterium Cosmographicum, takes the cosmos as its theme, from the mysteries of outer space to the divine impressions given off by distant stars. WILLIAM MORTENSEN - " A close friend of Manly P. Hall's and a colleague of Cecil B. DeMille and other LA para-normals, he sought to create his own odd world: a place where sexuality and horror, pleasure and peculiarity were uneasily beautiful bedfellows." |

"A PICTORIAL COMPENDIUM OF WITCHCRAFT" BY WILLIAM MORTENSEN EROTICA // Thursday, 03 Jul 2014 布鲁克林DUMBO正在举办“Mysterium Cosmographicum”艺术展 Charles Dellschau’s work was in large part a record of the activities of the Sonora Aero Club, of which he was a purported member. Dellschau’s writings describe the club as a secret group of flight enthusiasts who met in Sonora, California in the mid-19th century. |

DUMBO’S BEST KEPT LITTLE SECRET Stephen Romano Gallery lies nestled in an unsuspecting enclave, sandwiched amongst a conglomerate of galleries, at 111 Front Street. DUMBO galleries years ago were rumored to harbor the work of hobbyists or the non-professional dabblers– mere rumors. Mysterium Cosmographicum induces a powerful collective transcendence. The three-room space is transformed by spellbinding creative voices and riveting ideas. I can’t remember the last time I saw a group show this imaginatively curated (by owner Stephen Romano). |

Goodreads Voice: Charles A.A. Dellschau Brightly colored balloons festoon the pages of Charles A.A. Dellschau's ornate manuscripts—a hefty collection of thousands of drawings and press clippings that herald the advent of flight and echo the ingenious imagination of Leonardo da Vinci. The work of this iconoclastic Texan, a butcher by trade who started his creative project in his retirement in 1899 and continued until his death in 1923, is presented in the new book, Charles A.A. Dellschau. |
